El Nino has hit Southern CA hard and...

I just realized I ran out of subjects for my Dog A Day!

I'm going to try to get in a trip to the Animal Shelter for new photos.

Hopefully I have enough time before work to do a bit of drawing...

He's another long time resident of North County Animal Services.

Lazy Shepherd

There was a beautiful Shepherd at the animal shelter the other day...

But he was snapped up.

I wish by ME! ;)

Love Shepherds.. They're so noble and attractive looking.

Rosie

Rosie has been at North County Animal Services since 8/17/2015!!!

I think she's getting a bit depressed.

All dogs deserve I nice warm home for the New Year but she really needs it.

Little Ball

It's always amazing to me how dogs can curl themselves up into a small ball..

This is a stray down at North County Animal Services.

Not available yet and may have an owner looking for her.

She has a very gentle and sweet expression.

And one brown eye and one blue eye.

Duke

This was the last drawing I did of Duke before he died a few months ago.

He was laying around and I was trying to work on my speed.

It's a small sketch in my sketchbook done with a mechanical pencil.

It's amazing how much animals move around when just laying around.. definitely a good challenge to work on observational skills. I mostly work from photos when it comes to animals though due to this...

He WAS at the North County Animal Services but I believe his owners found him or he was adopted.

He was pretty cute.

This is Blitzen.

Scrappy Girl

Day 20

This is Scrappy. She's another oldie but goodie. 

She seemed like a sweet girl but I noticed she hung back and was a bit unsure 

while her kennel mate got all the attention. But She's worth a look.

She has a fun personality.

I was missing for a few days (fell into a bit of funk & was busy).

But I'm back again!

Only issue is I'm having my computer worked on tomorrow 

and I'm not sure how long before I get it back..

Dusty

Day 19

This is Dusty.

He's ADORABLE. 

With a sweet and cuddly personality.

I hate seeing him at the shelter because he's such a lovely old man at 15yrs.

He should live his retirement age in a lovely home where he can be appreciated!

It's the old dogs that make me the saddest and I really wish I could scoop him up and take him home with me... 

will you?

Stubby

Day 18

Not lovin' it really... Mostly because I really wanted to show this dog with a glimmering light.

He's so jowl -y! It's pretty adorable looking when he's relaxed.

His name is Stubby and he is HUGE! With a big glorious blocky head!

The photo the shelter has doesn't do his face justice. 

He relaxes when you talk to him and say his name in a buttery voice. :)

No-Name Yorkie

Day 17

This is a cute, and somewhat large, Yorkie.

He doesn't have a name yet because he's in the lost/found list.

He becomes available Dec 3.
